Echoing the form of a handbag, "Practically Impractical" takes an earnest look at waste production. Made entirely from materials used for beautification as well as provisions that sustain morning habits (tea and coffee drinking), the piece repurposes wasted elements of daily rituals for utility. The rate of human consumption and waste subsequently produced is overwhelming, but more frightening is when generating waste becomes a given in order to maintain routine. Confronting this rate of waste production through the collection of used daily contacts and coffee pods for one week, this piece confirms that even products with a seemingly single use have the potential for reuse and transformation.
